Book Launch event: Interactions of the ECHR with the various branches of law, 4/11/2025, Goethe-Institut
The presentation of the proceedings volume of the conference organized by the Faculty of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in cooperation with the Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights (MFHR) “Interactions of the ECHR with the various branches of law” took place with great success on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the Auditorium of the Goethe Institute.

This collective volume, comprising 35 contributions, uniquely highlights the multifaceted and dynamic relationship between the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the national and international legal orders, demonstrating that the ECHR is a living instrument that permeates the core of state sovereignty, directly influencing legal and judicial practice.

During the event, speakers highlighted the decisive role of the ECHR in shaping the rule of law and ensuring the ongoing protection of fundamental rights. They emphasized the historical significance of the Convention, seventy-five years after its adoption, and its continuing impact on the case law of Greek and other European national courts, as well as on that of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
