We are pleased to announce that the Joint Master’s Program, “Identity, Education and Competences for Democratic Culture” (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and the European Wergeland Centre) and the Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights (MFHR) are organising an international conference on the topic: “Human Rights and Democratic Culture in Practice: Applications and Challenges”. We invite all interested individuals to submit papers. The conference will take place in Athens on April 25-26, 2026.

The aim of the conference is to explore the ways in which the values ​​of Human Rights and Democratic Culture can be applied in practice, as well as the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world.

The conference aspires to bring together academics, researchers, educators, civil society professionals, policymakers, and students, focusing on issues of identity, participation, social justice and the rule of law.
